Ranger Rick's NatureScope is a creative education series dedicated to inspiring in children an understanding and appreciation of the natural world while developing the skills they will need to make responsible decisions about the environment. The topic of this issue is "Astronomy Adventures." Contents are organized into the following sections: (1) "A Look at the Universe," providing information and activities on what makes up the universe, the ways astronomers study the universe, and theories about how the universe began; (2) "Our Solar System," including information and activities on how the solar system began and the objects that make up the solar system; (3) "Our View From Earth," offering information and activities on features of the night sky and how to observe them; (4)"Astronomy through the Ages," providing information and activities on the history of people's relationships with the heavens and how the science of astronomy developed; (5) "Reaching for the Stars," offering information and activities on the space program, space issues and problems, and the search for extra-terrestrials; (6) "Crafty Corner," providing ideas for art projects; and (7) "Appendix," featuring a glossary and bibliographic and other reference information.
