Developed for presentation at the 12th Conference on Methods in Air Pollution and Industrial Hygiene Studies, University of Southern California, April, 1971, this outline explains a technique for separating the complex mixture of hydrocarbons contained in automotive exhausts. A Golay column and subambient temperature programming technique are utilized. Digital electronic integrators were coupled to a customized computer which processed peak area data, identified compounds, and generated reports. (BL)
