Council of Europe News-Letter 3/72.
Council of Europe, Strasbourg (France). Documentation Center for Education in Europe.
The first part of the newsletter is devoted to three excerpts on higher education. Several solutions are suggested for reformation of education at the university level, including one of implementing a policy of allowing an interval period between leaving school and entering the university. The second part of the newsletter describes steps undertaken, either through educational legislation or otherwise, in 13 European countries. English articles describe such steps in Austria, Denmark, Federal Republic of Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Scandinavia, Sweden, and United Kingdom. Reports about Belgium, Spain, France, and Switzerland are given in French. Some of the topics covered are teacher education, educational finances, cultural cooperation, university organization, special education, non-university sector, and economics of the Open University in England.
