True or False? Tests Stink!
Romain, Trevor; Verdick, Elizabeth
This book is designed to help students become better test takers. It helps them feel more confident and less stressed before, during, and after the test. Section 1, "Tests? Blech!" discusses why it is necessary to test students. Section 2, "Test SOS," presents test-taking hints; top secret information about tests and student behavior during tests; a pop quiz on the most appropriate behavior the night before a test; a bonus question on the best food to eat the morning of the test; test tips about arriving early, reading or listening to directions, asking questions, and checking answers; a pop quiz about what to do if other students finish the test first; and test-taking do's and don'ts. Section 3, "Test Stress," focuses on five signs of test stress, who gets it, and how to handle it. Section 4, "Test Your 'Study Smarts,'" focuses on improving study habits; finding a study buddy; checking over tests to understand why an answer was wrong; making sure the teacher marked the correct grade; celebrating good test scores; and coping with bad test scores.
