The data presented in this article were obtained in a questionnaire survey of 2,893 students in the seventh, ninth, and eleventh grades of general education schools in Moscow. The survey was conducted by the Center of Sociology of Education of the Russian Academy of Education in 2002. Earlier publications by the same authors dealing with materials of this survey [1; 2] were devoted to adolescents' deviant behavior and characteristics of sexual behavior. The materials presented in this article, which have to do with attitudes toward sports, represent a continuation of the indicated line of research in the study of the adolescent subculture.
