This booklet includes the Law-Decree No. 15 on Libraries issued by the Presidium of the Hungarian People's Republic in 1976 and the decree of the Council of Ministers on its implementation. The purpose of the decree is to further the fulfilment of citizens' cultural demands, and meet the needs for special literature of both citizens and corporate bodies. Functions of various types of libraries, networks, and cooperating groups are described. Sections cover general provisions, library tasks and activities, protection of library collections, and maintainance and supervision. (Author/KP)
