Bringing Scientists to Life
Casey, Peter
Education in Science, n237 p19 Apr 2010
In this article, the author describes how he brings scientists to life when he visits schools. Having retired from teaching Drama and Theatre Studies in Liverpool for more than thirty years, the author set up his one-man Theatre-in-Education company, Blindseer Productions, and now takes his portrayals of Darwin, Galileo and Einstein to schools around the UK and across the age range. The students can ask questions and the character is as keen to ascertain their understanding of science. It is an interactive experience, rather than a conventional theatrical performance.
