A study examined the effects of adult education participation together with educational attainment and work experience on three variables: (1) individual modernity, (2) adoption of modern business practices, and (3) occupational achievement. Survey of 60 Mexican-American shopkeepers indicated participation contributed directly to the first two variables and indirectly to the third. (CSS)
