Implementing the North American Industry Classification System at BLS.
Walker, James A.; Murphy, John B.
Monthly Labor Review, v124 n12 p15-21 Dec 2001
The United States, Canada, and Mexico developed the North American Industry Classification System, which captures new and emerging industries, uses a unified concept to define industries, and is a consistent and comparable tool for measuring the nations' economies. Despite initial conversion difficulties, the new system will be a more accurate way of classifying and measuring economic activity. (SK)
