Pioneer CESA Guidance Project: A Staff Development Program for School Counselors. Planning.
Gimmestad, Michael
This module for school counselors presents a series of learning activities related to the skills required to implement a systematic planning model. The three global skills in this model are: assessing client needs, program design, and program evaluation. This model is designed to result in a guidance program based on the individual counselor's client population and community situation, and tempered by the various reality constraints in his setting. The program includes systematic program evaluations, both for accountability and for feedback to improve the program. This document is one of seven staff development programs which target performance skills of school counselors. The programs include the competency areas of: planning, individual counseling, group facilitation, in-service training, consultation, information processing, and legal/ethical concerns. (Author/LEB)
