The purpose of "Facilities Performance Indicators" is to provide a representative set of statistics about facilities in educational institutions. The second iteration of the web-based Facilities Core Data Survey was posted and available to facilities professionals at more than 3,000 institutions in the Fall of 2005. The website offered a printed version of the survey for participants who preferred to use that medium for reporting data. The Facilities Core Data Survey supersedes and builds upon the two major surveys Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA) conducted in the past: the Comparative Costs and Staffing (CCAS) survey and the Strategic Assessment Model (SAM). The Facilities Core Data Survey covers all the materials collected in CCAS and SAM, along with some select new data points and improved survey tools.
