The nine papers in this collection discuss the educational issues raised by the 1976 Copyright Revision Act with special emphasis on conflicts between the rights of teachers and learners and the rights of creators. Topics covered include: (1) the history of copyright development in Europe and America, (2) the educational implications of the new copyright law, (3) questions and answers concerning the educational use of broadcast programming, (4) educational interpretations of the new copyright law, (5) considerations in determining fair use of copyrighted works, (6) changes in licensing and permission processes, (7) proposed guidelines for off-air-copying of commercial television programs, and (8) professional ethical considerations raised by the new copyright law.
