Progress in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate in SREB States. Challenge to Lead
Kaye, Rebecca Daugherty
Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)
Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) states lead the nation in student participation in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Programs. SREB states know that getting students engaged in a challenging high school curriculum is the most important step they can take to promote college readiness. Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum are singled out by SREB's "Challenge to Lead" Goals for Education as ways to engage high school students in more advanced course work. "Challenge to Lead" sets this ambitious goal for AP and IB participation: All groups of students will have enrollment and "passing" rates that exceed national averages. (Contains 3 tables.)
