Arguing Artificially: A Rhetorical Analysis of the Debates That Have Shaped Cognitive Science.
Gibson, Keith
Business Communication Quarterly, v66 n2 p83-89 Jun 2003
Attempts a rhetorical analysis of the history of artificial intelligence research. Responds to scholarly needs in three areas: the rhetorical nature of science, the social construction of science knowledge, and the rhetorical strategies used in artificial intelligence (AI). Suggests that this work can help rhetoricians more accurately describe the construction of scientific knowledge and better prepare their students to take part in that construction. (SG)
