The interdisciplinary school-university partnership based at Stanford University is establishing a database for developing educational policy. The following features are discussed: (1) historical perspective; (2) data collection/feedback process and its contribution to the linking of researcher and practitioner on a national basis; (3) lessons learned; and (4) insights gained.
