Examined family structure, race, and gender differences in parent and child adjustment among 82 African Americans and 415 whites living in stepfather families and 394 African Americans and 2,312 whites living in intact families. Found that African-American stepfather families were generally similar in parent and child adjustment to white stepfather families and African-American intact families. (Author/NB)
