10 School-Based Strategies for Student Success
Lumpkin, Angela
Kappa Delta Pi Record, v46 n2 p71-75 Win 2010
The person most critical to the success of teachers is the building principal. The person most critical to student learning is the teacher. Too often, though, principals and teachers lack the time, resources, and sometimes the skills and abilities to focus on student learning. Principals and teachers in school with limited financial and human resources may feel especially challenged. Principals and teachers are more likely to implement positive changes when they have adults providing assistance, receive financial support from new sources, employ creative approaches, and implement steps that have proven successful in other schools. This article presents 10 strategies which, along with specific implementation steps, have been used in various types of schools and offer principals and teachers concrete ways to enhance student learning.
