There is a great amount of emphasis placed on the impact a principal has on a school. Likewise, there is an abundance of research focused on the necessary skills needed to be a successful school leader. The purpose of this study is to develop a profile that includes common characteristics and attributes of successful school leaders in a one-to-one technology environment. A profile was developed by the researcher based on the results of a mixed methods study that included a quantitative survey, followed by a qualitative interview process of key informants. The participants included principals from seventeen different states who all lead Apple Distinguished Schools. The conclusions from this study can be used to inform hiring practices of school leaders and leadership development programs at the college and university level.
