Today's college presidents face multiple challenges as they create and implement their institutions' strategic plans. Recently, some presidents have included an online learning capability among the tools employed to implement their strategic plans and achieve their vision. What effect does online education really have on an institution? In this article, the author argues that the e-learning revolution can strengthen access, teaching, learning, diversity, and the overall mission of colleges and universities. (Contains 6 notes.)
