Designed for use with the text "Greek and Roman Myths," this junior high school learning activity packet introduces students to mythology and examines the influence of myths on contemporary culture. Over 20 exercises, tagged to specific readings in the text, cover identification of the major gods, the Prometheus myth, the Atlas myth, Pandora's box, Pegasus, and the Six Pomegranate Seeds story. Each exercise incorporates development of one of the following skills into the study of myth content: using research techniques, abbreviating, using quotation marks, recognizing antonyms, using the "Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature," analyzing pictures, identifying parts of speech, and using capitals.
