Understanding the current state of digital publishing means that writers can now do more and say more in more ways than ever before in human history. As modes, methods, media and mechanisms of expression mutate into newer and newer digital forms, writers find themselves at a moment when they can create, critique collaborate, and comment according to new and often unprecedented protocols. As such, scholars and publishers deal less with issues of "making public," or sharing/distributing scholarly works, and more with new techniques, for scholarly production. This article considers that the forms, products, and performances of digital scholarship are asking scholars and publishers to consider an entirely different set of artifacts, practices, and possibilities. Any number of different concepts and practices have much to offer for new ways to create, and experience digital scholarship.
