Statistics are presented on higher education in Tennessee for 1984-1985 and previous years. Attention is directed to: enrollment trends, undergraduate transfers, student finances, degrees conferred, faculty salaries, institutional finances, and actions of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Tables include: student headcount enrollment by class level for public and private institutions; in-state and out-of-state and foreign student enrollments; resident and nonresident enrollments for public institutions and comparisons to selected southeastern states; part- and full-time enrollments; enrollments by major division; enrollments by race, sex, and age; undergraduate and graduate/professional enrollments by age; degree credit enrollments for on-campus and off-campus centers; enrollment trends for 1974-1984; student fees per academic year for public institutions; resident tuition per academic year; degrees awarded by public institutions; graduates by race and sex; number of full-time teaching faculty and average annual salary by rank and group for public institutions; state appropriations for public institutions, 1982-1985; revenues and expenditures; and capital outlay appropriations.
