Towler, Alan L.
This guide to teaching photography, one in a series of instructional materials for junior high industrial arts education, is designed to assist teachers as they plan and implement new courses of study and as they make revisions and improvements in existing courses in order to integrate classroom learning with real-life experiences. This photography course is organized in 11 units, each containing objectives, vocabulary, teaching aids (such as transparency masters), suggested references, a sentence outline of the material in the unit, suggestions for materials for students, student handouts, suggested student activities, and a multiple-choice test with answer key. The units cover the following topics: introduction to photography, history of photography, camera types and designs, handling the camera, composition, exposure, film and film developing, print development, print finishing, careers in photography, and computer applications in photographic technology. Appendixes to the guide discuss cinema/movie techniques, the future of photography, and audiovisual programs. (KC)
