This self-instructional study guide is part of the materials for a college-level programmed course in managerial finance. The study guide is intended for use by students in conjunction with a separate student manual and a series of instructional tape casettes. The study guide contains seven major units that focus in turn on the goal of financial management, financial analysis, budgeting, management of current assets, management of current liabilities, management of fixed assets, and acquisition and management of long-term funds. Each unit consists of a list of specific performance objectives, a bibliography that identifies sections of the study guide and tapes that are relevant to each objective, an instructional section relevant to the unit's performance objectives, a series of practical exercises and an answer key for the exercises, and a self-diagnostic test with answer key. On completion of each unit, students are required to take a credit examination on which their grades are based. (JG)
