Combined Report of Graduates, Former Credit Students, and Community Services Students for 1976.
Brown, Ralph W., Jr.
This four-part document presents the findings of three follow-up studies conducted by Central Virginia Community College (CVCC): (1) a survey of 1975-76 graduates to determine their current employment and educational activities and their opinions of CVCC experiences; (2) a survey of students who attended the college in spring 1976 but did not return for the following fall or winter terms, utilizing an instrument similar to that of the graduate survey; and (3) a survey of former community services students to determine their satisfaction with non-credit programs. Response rates for the three surveys were 70% (207), 54% (199), and 67% (67), respectively. Of the graduates and former students in regular programs, 67.5% were employed, 44.3% in their field of study. Of the 4l.9% attending college, 34% had transferred to other schools, and 7.9% had returned to CVCC. Technical and academic instruction and grading received "good" evaluations, while counseling and faculty advice were ranked "fair." Community service students gave high positive rankings to instruction, and expressed satisfaction with course difficulty, class pace, use of instructional examples, and class size. The findings are presented in three separate reports which include the questionnaires and tabulated data. They are preceded by a summary report. (RT)
