Assessment of Marijuana Use and Psychosocial Behaviors at Two Historically Black Universities.
Bowen-Reid, Terra L.; Rhodes, Warren A.
Journal of Black Psychology, v29 n4 p429-44 Nov 2003
Assessed three constructs (resilient, invulnerable, and vulnerable) as they related to marijuana use, examining the role of spirituality and social support as potential buffering mechanisms. Data on 103 African American undergraduates from two historically black colleges indicated that students who continued to use marijuana were less spiritual than those who had either halted use or those who never used marijuana.
