Undergraduate nursing students at an historically black college were socialized to research in three projects: (1) collaboration with a community coalition on environmental justice, involving a large-scale survey; (2) study of compliance with a health advisory; and (3) 6-week summer immersion at a research university. Many students developed an interest in graduate study and research careers. (Contains 14 references.) (SK)
