Do We Only Die Once?
Cangemi, Joseph P.
Education, v134 n4 p433-438 Sum 2014
Some individuals believe physical death is the only form of death we experience on this planet. Is such a belief valid? In the Western world, essentially, physical death is seen as the end of life on this planet. It's all over "here." But is physical death really the only form of death experienced while on earth? Physical death is the last and final phase for many who hold Western world beliefs, but other forms of death apparently do occur in the lives of many individuals before this ultimate experience. The following forms of death--experienced by many during their final transition--are discussed herein: (1) Death-In-Life; (2) Death-of-Love; (3) Emotional Death; (4) Spiritual Death; (5) Philosophical Death; (6) Death-of-Motivation; (7) Intellectual Death; and (8) Death-of-Self-Esteem.
