The OCDQ--An Application and Some Implications

The article describes an application of the Organizational Climate Descriptive Questionnaire (OCDQ) in the author's dissertation. He explored the possible relationships among [Fred] Fiedler's assessment of psychological distance of the leader (the principal) and the organizational climate of schools as assessed by the then recently developed OCDQ by [A. W.] Halpin and [D. B.] Croft. The article speaks directly to application of the OCDQ in a particular research situation with results obtained and the implication of the results in a critique of the OCDQ as a research instrument.
