Discusses a 1994 survey to determine how Chinese students (both American and foreign) assessed their current situation at Northern Illinois University. Most (62%) felt their overall classroom interactions with classmates were successful. Faculty were advised to show patience when answering questions, encourage students to speak and interact with classmates, and be more directive. (14 references) (MLH)
