Students' Perspectives on Integrative Curricula: The Case of Brown Barge Middle School.
Powell, Richard; Skoog, Gerald
Research in Middle Level Education Quarterly, v19 n1 p85-115 Fall 1995
Explored how a middle school integrative learning environment at a Florida school influenced students' perspectives of curriculum, schooling, and learning. Students in grades 9 and 10 were interviewed. Results indicated three themes pertaining to students' perspectives--thinking and learning integratively, constructing knowledge socially, and misconceptions about integrative teaching and learning--with implications for implementing an integrative curriculum.
