Adjusting the Focus: Teachers' Roles and Responsibilities in a School/University Collaborative.
Powell, James Howard; McGowan, Thomas M.
Teacher Educator, v31 n1 p1-22 Sum 1995
This study investigated whether 12 professional development school (PDS) teachers changed their perceptions of roles and responsibilities and adjusted their performances to meet this redefinition as a result of participation in an elementary school/university collaborative. Findings suggest that teachers created and maintained three roles: teacher-as-learner, teacher-as-collaborator, and teacher-as-social-activist. (Author/IAH)
