Ours Is Not to Reason Why...: A Study of How Secondary School Teachers Perceive Their Role and That of the School.
McTavish, James
Education Canada, v35 n4 p25-27 Win 1995
Survey of 22 physics teachers in Ontario (Canada) revealed lack of clarity and consensus on the perceived role of secondary schools. However, teachers were clear about their role in providing knowledge, developing skills, encouraging attitude growth, and illustrating applications. Results suggest that the roles of schools outlined by the provincial government are not being promoted by local administrators. (LP)
