The Significance of Fathers for Inner-City African-American Teen Mothers.
Chadiha, Letha A.; Danziger, Sandra K.
Child and Adolescent Social Work Journal, v12 n2 p83-100 Apr 1995
Examined 71 teenage African American mothers' experiences with their biological fathers, using in-depth life history interviews. Found three prevalent themes: fathers' residential history, father-daughter activity or interaction during more than one phase of daughter's life; and emotional tone and feelings about fathers. Results suggest practitioners should advocate a more inclusive role for fathers of adolescent mothers. (MOK)
