Examines the impact of policies, practices, and attitudes of employers toward new parents by interviews with seven women and six men who had recently returned to work after becoming first-time parents. Findings pointed to considerable differences in the attitudes of employers to the men and women. Discusses implications for organizational careers and career planning. (JPS)
