Teacher Behaviours Related with Pupil Psychosocial Development in Physical Education: A Descriptive-Analytic Study.
Curtner-Smith, Matthew D.; And Others
Educational Research, v37 n3 p267-77 Win 1995
Observation of 20 English physical education teachers giving lessons showed that they frequently used behaviors associated with positive psychosocial development (positive reinforcement, encouragement, technical instruction) and infrequently used those associated with negative development (nonreinforcement, punishment, ignoring mistakes, keeping control). Rates of behavior use were consistent regardless of the activity. (SK)
