Examines two treatment strategies on children's drug refusal skills and drug-related information. Thirty-four third graders were randomly assigned to one of three groups: rehearsal-plus, general information, and control. Subjects in the rehearsal-plus groups showed significantly improved behavioral skills and elaborative rehearsal. Subjects in the general information group showed significantly improved general knowledge/self-esteem. Implications for future training are discussed. (Author/KW)
