Male Gender Role Conflict, Depression, and Help Seeking: Do College Men Face Double Jeopardy?
Good, Glenn E.; Wood, Phillip K.
Journal of Counseling & Development, v74 n1 p70-75 Sep-Oct 1995
Uses latent variable modeling to examine the relationship between male gender role conflict (MGRC), depression, and negative attitudes toward seeking counseling services in male college students. Identifies two components of MGRC : restriction-related MGRC, which predicted 25% of the variance in help-seeking attitudes, and achievement-related MGRC, which predicted 21% of the variance in depression.
