Impact of Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment on Quality of Life in Panic Disorder Patients.
Telch, Michael J.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v63 n5 p823-30 Oct 1995
Patients (n=156) meeting criteria for panic disorder with agoraphobia were randomly assigned to group cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) or a delayed-treatment control. Compared with the control group, CBT-treated patients showed significant reductions in impairment that were maintained at follow-up. Anxiety and phobic avoidance were significantly associated with quality of life, whereas frequency of panic attacks was not. (JPS)
