Interviews with a sample of 73 nurses in Plymouth, England, indicated that they fulfilled continuing education needs with study days and journal reading. Hecker, Daniel E. – Monthly Labor Review, 1995
Presents tables of data from the Current Population Survey showing a clear relationship between major field and earnings for college graduates of all ages and both sexes. Most liberal arts fields were below the median. Men had higher earnings in almost all fields, age groups, and degree levels. (SK)

Tyler and others refute Hecker's 1990 article warning that the economy is generating college graduates faster than it is generating jobs. They argue that the 1980s labor market successfully absorbed new college graduates. Hecker expresses concerns over their analysis. (SK)

Observation of 10 British simulations in which student teams created and marketed a product showed the following: students were more motivated and thought the activity relevant; involvement of business/industry staff increased student response; and students preferred cooperation even though the simulation was meant to be competitive.
