Managing AASL's New "Standards for the 21st-Century Learner"
Stephens, Claire Gatrell; Franklin, Pat
School Library Monthly, v26 n1 p34-36 Sep 2009
No doubt most school librarians have heard of the American Association of School Librarians' (AASL) new "Standards for the 21st-Century Learner." The four standards with their accompanying skills, dispositions, responsibilities, and self-assessment strategies form a defining new vision for the direction of school library programs. AASL named the implementation program for the new standards "Learning4Life" (L4L). This article provides an overview of the L4L initiative. (Contains 7 resources.)
