This article presents an interview with Barry Shauck, currently head of art education and professor at Boston University and the incoming president of the National Art Education Association. In this interview, Shauck discusses the identification process, curriculum, instruction, and programs designed for the gifted. Shauck also relates how he encourages art teachers to meet the needs of those with visual art talent. In addition, Shauck describes how he and the rest of the faculty at Boston University address gifted education with their undergraduate and graduate students. (Contains 1 figure.)
