Designing an Effective In-School Suspension Program to Change Student Behavior.
Sheets, John
NASSP Bulletin, v80 n579 p86-90 Apr 1996
All in-school suspension (ISS) models can be classified into punitive, problem-solving, academic, and individual models. The individual model is most reasonable, since it assumes that reasons for misbehavior vary from student to student. ISS programs can help modify student misbehavior, protect the overall learning environment by isolating disruptive students, and protect the community by keeping offenders off the streets. (MLH)
