Gender Role Conditioning and Women's Self-Concept.
Long, Vonda O.
Journal of Humanistic Education and Development, v30 n1 p19-29 Sep 1991
Incorporated multiple measures of self-concept, including time competency, innerdirected support, self-regard, self-acceptance, and self-esteem as well as locus of control, in analysis of relationship between sex-role orientation and adult women's (n=293) mental health. Found masculine and androgynous sex-role orientations were strongly related to positive self-concept whereas feminine were related to poorer self-concepts. (ABL)
