The Relationship between Parents' Socioeconomic Status and Education Level, and Adult Occupational and Educational Achievement of Children with Learning Disabilities.
O'Connor, Shelly C.; Spreen, Otfried
Journal of Learning Disabilities, v21 n3 p148-53 Mar 1988
The longitudinal study of 226 learning disabled (LD) subjects found a significant correlation (28 percent) between parents' educational level/socioeconomic status (SES) and subjects' occupational and academic outcome. Fathers' SES was the major contributing parent variable. SES should be carefully controlled in studies of LD students' achievement. (Author/DB)
