A Bittersweet Victory: Public School Desegregation in Memphis.
Biles, Roger
Journal of Negro Education, v55 n4 p470-83 Fall 1986
A close examination of Memphis, Tennessee, public school desegregation since Brown vs. Board of Education demonstrates how successful many southern communities have been in circumventing the decision.
