This report presents findings from Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education's (WICHE) "Multistate Longitudinal Data Exchange Pilot" ("MLDE" or "Exchange"), which includes an array of analyses of the combined dataset covering 192,689 students from the four states (Hawai'i, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington) that participated in the pilot program. These results describe what can be known about participation in postsecondary education, degree completion, employment, and geographic mobility. The findings provide details about what happened to students who were Class of 2005 high school graduates or first-time college undergraduates at public institutions in these states during the 2005-06 academic year as they made their way into and through college, and beyond. In general, these findings document the MLDE pilot project's proof of concept, showing the need for cross-state data in examining post-collegiate outcomes while also demonstrating that it is possible to assemble such data and make them available to participating states.
