This directory presents information relating to institutional financial aid programs which were active during the 1959-60 academic year. To collect information for this directory, over 2,100 copies of a questionnaire, "Survey of Institutional Financial Assistance to Undergraduate Students, 1959-60," were mailed to institutions of higher education, their branch campuses, and certain professional schools as listed in the Educational Directory, Part 3: Higher Education, 1959-60. The resulting information was supplied by officials of the 1,677 institutions listed herein. A table of gross figures is also included which summarizes, by States, institutional scholarships, undergraduate employment, undergraduate loans, and all loans made under the National Defense Student Loan Program.
