Towards a Theory of Human Capital Transformation through Human Resource Development

This paper summarizes a larger study conducted to create a theory of human capital transformation through HRD. The paper describes the problem, explains what human capital transformation is, and then presents the findings of the study. The two major findings are: 1) the process of conceptual development (part of theory building research) consists of five universal components; and 2) HRD transforms human capital by changing the relationships between organizational value creation drivers.
