This edition marks the 23rd year of a longitudinal study of counselor preparation in the United States and its Territories. This first volume covers aspects of programs and personnel. The current edition, in response to user feedback, features some modifications in content and reporting of data reported by institutions. Each graduate degree program appears separately with related information shown, including degree level, name of major, number of students enrolled and graduating yearly, accreditation held, admission requirements, clinical experience required in clock hours before graduation, total academic hours required for graduation, placement of graduates expressed in percentage by settings, and uniqueness of the program. The book is divided into eight chapters. Chapters 1 through 7 provide information on the content and uses of this book, research design and data sources, accreditation bodies, the format for reporting data, master's level majors and institutions, doctoral level majors and institutions, and institutions listing Ed.S., Post-Degree, and CAS, Chapter 8, which constitutes about four-fifths of the book, presents the actual institution data. An appendix lists programs that did not respond to the survey. Also featured are a bibliography and an index which can be searched by content and by faculty name. (RJM)
